The manufacturing process of plastic fasteners mainly includes several key steps: Raw material preparation, molding, processing, and post-processing.
First, the selection of raw materials is the first step in producing plastic fasteners. Commonly used plastic materials include polyethylene (PE), polypropylene (PP), polyvinyl chloride (PVC), and polyester (PET). These materials possess good mechanical strength, corrosion resistance, and moldability. Thorough drying of the raw materials is essential to prevent moisture from affecting subsequent processing.
Next is the molding process, typically employing injection molding, extrusion molding, or compression molding. Injection molding is the most common process, where dried plastic granules are heated to a molten state and then injected into a mold, where they cool to form the desired fastener shape. Extrusion molding is suitable for producing long, thin plastic parts and is commonly used in the manufacture of plastic pipes.
After molding, post-processing may be required, including deburring, sanding, and surface treatment. These steps aim to improve the product's appearance and performance. Finally, quality inspection is conducted to ensure that the dimensions, strength, and reliability of the plastic fasteners meet relevant standards.
